What is PocketBase?
PocketBase is a single executable that provides an embedded database, user authentication, file storage, realtime subscriptions and an admin UI, with a REST API generated from your collections.
It is the smallest credible backend for a small app — no separate database to run, no container orchestration, one process and one data directory.

Getting started with PocketBase
- When the build finishes, your server's page in the dashboard shows its HTTPS address, its root password and any sign-in details the installer set for PocketBase. The build console streams every step as it happens, so you can see exactly what was installed rather than taking it on trust.
- Create the first admin account from the dashboard, define a collection with its fields and access rules, and the REST API for it exists immediately. The client SDKs need only the server URL.
- Add your own domain from the same page when you are ready: point a DNS record at the server and the certificate is issued for you. The original address keeps working, so nothing you configured against it breaks.
- Take a backup once PocketBase is configured the way you want it. A backup captures the whole server, so restoring one brings back PocketBase and its data together — and it is the only thing that will bring them back.
