What is ntfy?
ntfy publishes notifications to topics over plain HTTP, and delivers them to iOS, Android, desktop and the browser. Publishing is as simple as a POST to a URL.
Topics need no registration, so a script can start notifying immediately, and access control can be added when a topic becomes sensitive.

- Publish to any topic name with one HTTP request and it arrives — no account needed to start. Subscribe to the same topic in the iOS or Android app, then add authentication once the topic matters.
- Add your own domain from the same page when you are ready: point a DNS record at the server and the certificate is issued for you. The original address keeps working, so nothing you configured against it breaks.
- Take a backup once ntfy is configured the way you want it. A backup captures the whole server, so restoring one brings back ntfy and its data together — and it is the only thing that will bring them back.
