What is Easypanel?
Easypanel is a hosting control panel for the container era. Instead of managing Apache vhosts and PHP pools, you connect a Git repository or name a Docker image and it builds, runs and routes the service for you.
It detects your stack with buildpacks or a Dockerfile, issues Let's Encrypt certificates automatically, and ships a template library that installs WordPress, databases, n8n, MinIO and hundreds more with their storage and networking already wired together.

Getting started with Easypanel
- When the build finishes, your server's page in the dashboard shows its HTTPS address, its root password and any sign-in details the installer set for Easypanel. The build console streams every step as it happens, so you can see exactly what was installed rather than taking it on trust.
- Easypanel asks you to create the admin account on the very first visit, so nobody has ever known the password. Then connect a Git repository or name a Docker image, and it builds, runs and routes the service for you.
- Add your own domain from the same page when you are ready: point a DNS record at the server and the certificate is issued for you. The original address keeps working, so nothing you configured against it breaks.
- Take a backup once Easypanel is configured the way you want it. A backup captures the whole server, so restoring one brings back Easypanel and its data together — and it is the only thing that will bring them back.
Frequently asked questions
What does Easypanel install on the server?
Docker, if it is not already present, and then Easypanel itself as a Docker Swarm service alongside its own Traefik reverse proxy. Both are set up for you during the build.
Do I set an Easypanel password in advance?
No. Easypanel ships with no default credentials: you create the admin account yourself on the first visit, which means nobody else has ever known the password.
Can I point my own domains at apps I deploy in Easypanel?
Yes, and this is the one thing worth planning. Easypanel's own proxy wants ports 80 and 443 on the server, which on a standard setup are shared. Adding a dedicated IPv4 address to the server gives those ports exclusively to Easypanel, after which its automatic Let's Encrypt certificates work for any domain you point at it.
How does this compare with Portainer?
Portainer manages containers you have already defined. Easypanel is a step further up: it builds your application from source, routes a domain to it and manages its certificate, which is the part Portainer leaves to you.
How long does it take to install Easypanel?
